Learn It Systems, based in the Jones Falls Area, has raised $4.1 million in equity, according to SEC filings. The education company develops several academic programs, including network technology and an online platform for its Learn It Online program.
OriGene Technologies, based in Rockville, Md., has raised $200,000 in equity, according to SEC filings. The life sciences company provides molecular biology services and makes products for biotechnology and pharmaceutical research.
EA Engineering Science and Technology, based in Hunt Valley, Md., has raised $393,822 in equity, according to SEC filings. The engineering firm “provides environmental, compliance, natural resources, and infrastructure engineering and management solutions to a wide range of government and industrial clients.”

Heather Mizeur — Maryland gubernatorial candidate and Democratic state delegate from Montgomery County — “on Monday asked appropriators to block state funds for the  upcoming closure of Montgomery County’s largest biotech incubator if the county can’t find an alternate site for its tenants,” according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
