For the more than 200 member-companies of the Howard Tech Council facing cybersecurity challenges without their own cybersecurity departments, a program created by the council and the Howard County Economic Development Authority will now offer free guidance.
A Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) residency program will allow “companies to access a select set of certified senior executive-level security professionals in the county who have agreed to serve in a ‘virtual’ capacity providing governance, privacy, risk and information security management guidance,” according to a press release. The CISO program will be based out of the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE), and companies housed out of the MCE will also be able to use the program.
