who’s getting funded?

Sequella Inc., based in Rockville, has raised $555,000 in equity, according to SEC filings. The biotech firm is an “anti-infectives company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing improved treatments for serious infectious diseases,” according to its website.

who’s making moves?

Localist, the Canton-based startup that integrates online calendars with social media, is now partnered with online-ticketing business Eventbrite.
Groove Commerce has opened its new office on South Central Avenue near Little Italy. The Baltimore Business Journal reports that the new office of the e-commerce startup is 10,000 square feet and cost about $1 million to build. Groove cofounder Ethan Giffin said he “hopes to hire at least 20 employees in the next year.” View photos of Groove’s new office here.
Gaithersburg-based biotch tech firm GlycoMimetics has filed for an initial public offering, as Technical.ly Baltimore mentioned yesterday. The company will look to raise $86 million through its IPO, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.
