Maryland State Police, the state Motor Vehicle Administration and other state officials have partnered with AT&T to sign up pledges for the telecom company’s national “It Can Wait” campaign to stop people from texting while driving.
In a press release, Baltimore City Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts said: “Texting and driving is dangerous and illegal. Take the pledge today not to put others at risk and avoid a costly ticket.”
Earlier this month, a Maryland driver texting while driving in Charles County crashed into a lake. The driver, 25, was fine. Don’t text and drive.-30-
