Comcast to offer Baltimore Triple Play subscribers new media-viewing platform X1

X1 is Comcast's attempt at a redesigned, easier-to-use central media hub to compete with the likes of Netflix and Apple TV.

Comcast Triple Play subscribers in Baltimore will soon have access to X1, a new, media-operating platform that offers “change in design and ease of access to features like On Demand.” Our sister site Technically Philly first heard about X1 when Comcast CEO Brian Roberts talked about it during an interview this year.
The Baltimore Sun reports:

Comcast promises X1 users will be able to browse poster art, critics’ reviews or suggestions based on past viewing. And then, with one tap, you will arrive at your choice. … The X1 look and mind-set is visual instead of text-oriented … more like Apple TV than anything I’ve seen from Xfinity On Demand.
