92% of RailsGirls attendees felt ‘very free’ to make mistakes [INFOGRAPHIC]

Baltimore's inaugural RailsGirls event this month drew a crowd of 70, and 94 percent of attendees were women.

Full disclosure: The RailsGirls event was held at Betamore, from which Technically Baltimore works on occasion.

Baltimore’s inaugural RailsGirls event this month drew a crowd of 70, and 94 percent of attendees were women, according to an infographic assembled by event co-organizer Jess Gartner, who also works as the director of education at Federal Hill incubator Betamore. Gartner is also the founder of Allovue, one of six startups in the AccelerateBaltimore program.

As Technically Baltimore reported, the event was unofficially billed as the biggest gathering of female coders in the city’s history. (Though other events could be in the running for that title)
