Philly’s Founder Factory is on Nov 17th

I got the chance to meet up with the Philadelphia startup community when I went to Switch Philly last week with Paul Capestany. Switch is a presentation event where five Philly companies give 7 minute demos to investors and community members. The only rule of Switch is “No Power Points.” I personally loved this rule and would highly recommend it to any “crowd pitch” type event. My two favorite demos from the night were from CommonSpace.us by Geospactial experts Azavea, and PackLate.com a website for finding last minute deals on vacation rentals.
Immediately following the event we ventured over to a local pub and got the chance to meet up with Jameson Detweiler of Philly Startup Leaders. PSL is the largest startup community in Philly and is on a mission to connect as many different entrepreneurs as they can. One of the best ways they are doing this is with their premier annual event, the Founder Factory.
This year’s Founder Factory event is titled, “From Cradle to Tombstone: The Anatomy of a Startup” and will be taking place on November 17th at World Cafe Live. They have promised a powerful line-up of speakers and three fishbowls to leave not only inspired but with plenty of practical advice from their speakers experiences. This event is expecting to sellout over 200 spots to Entrepreneurs, Angels/Venture Capital Investors, and members of the Press.
They’ve asked that all who wish to attend to make sure to get tickets in advance before they sell out! When the event sells out, there will be NO more tickets made available – no matter who you know or how much you beg.
